As a research data professional, you continue to develop your knowledge and skills throughout your career. Whether you are new to the field, looking to deepen your expertise or wanting to specialise in a particular area, RDNL helps you take the next steps in your professional development.

The national curriculum provides an overarching framework for this development, bringing together the Competency Framework and the Training Programme. The competency framework outlines the competencies, knowledge and skills relevant to research data professionals. Building on this framework, the training programme brings together training opportunities that enable you to further develop this knowledge and these skills.

As part of the Training Programme, RDNL is developing a range of learning pathways. These can help you select and combine training opportunities that match your role, experience and development goals. In this way, you can take a focused approach to your professional development, from strengthening your foundational knowledge to developing deeper expertise or specialising in a particular area.

Discover which competencies, knowledge and skills are relevant to research data professionals and how the competency framework can support professional development and training.

RDNL currently offers two trainings for research data professionals that are aligned with the national curriculum:

RDNL is developing a national training programme that aligns with the competency framework and the development needs of research data professionals in different roles and at different stages of their careers. We are involving training providers from across the Netherlands and potentially beyond.

By bringing together knowledge, experience and existing training opportunities, we are working towards a coherent programme for research data professionals.
