What is RDNL?
Research Data Netherlands (RDNL) is a national coalition of research supporting organisations with a mission to promote the implementation and long-term sustainability of FAIR research data in the Netherlands.
4TU.ResearchData and DANS founded RDNL in 2013. SURF joined the coalition in 2014, and the Dutch Techcentre for Life Sciences (DTL, merged with Health-RI) in 2022.
With these four partners, RDNL is an expert network combining knowledge, skills and infrastructure across all academic domains. However, the coalition is and always has been open to other national organisations that are committed to sustainable data stewardship.
What do we do?
The RDNL ambition is to facilitate the transition to Open Science by promoting the implementation of FAIR data stewardship in all phases of research.
The RDNL partners provide training and expertise to help data professionals and researchers navigate the national and international data landscape, to enable them to choose the appropriate data services that meet the requirements of their specific research data.
- RDNL delivers a powerful and coherent national training programme for data stewardship, that currently consists of two training courses in the field of data management, GDPR, FAIR implementation and long-term data accessibility and preservation.
- Essentials for Data Support
- GDPR for Data Support
- Every two years, RDNL awards the Dutch Data Prize to an individual or a team as a recognition for an outstanding effort to make research data FAIR.
- RDNL facilitates knowledge exchange and capacity building across all domains of science, by setting up and managing community-building efforts.
