Why are data stewards so important in the transition towards open science?  

In an interview with Open Science NL, Dorien Huijser, training coordinator at Research Data Netherlands (RDNL), explains why data stewards are important and why there is a need for a national training platform. 

'This platform is intended to become the go-to place for data stewards. Data stewards help researchers to make their data FAIR and provide them with advice on this process. This does not happen automatically, and specialism is required. We help them to improve their skills.'
