The initiative to build a national training and community platform for research data professionals is funded by Open Science NL for the period 2025-2028. On this platform we seek to bring people and knowledge together. Our goal is to strengthen the profession by enhancing the competencies and skills of data professionals, to establish a sustainable infrastructure for training and knowledge sharing, and, last but not least, to contribute to the transition towards Open Science.

The platform is under construction on this website; it builds upon existing initiatives and consolidates training, learning materials, and networking activities. It is our ambition that by 2028, we will have taken a significant step towards an integrated national training programme that is part of a unified professional structure in which existing RDNL trainings are embedded, while allowing space for further growth and the inclusion of materials from other training providers.

The RDNL partners contribute to both the content and technical development of the platform. We assist in the design of an online learning environment and the development of a national curriculum, including certification and learning paths for data professionals.
Additionally, we ensure that the platform will provide broad support within the research landscape by bringing together relevant networks and institutions.

This includes collaboration with LCRDM, the network of DCCs within research organisations, and the TDCCs in various scientific domains to strengthen the connection with research disciplines. Together with these partners, we aim to work on a sustainable model to ensure the platform remains a valuable resource for data professionals beyond the four-year project.
