The Netherlands are international stage for research data18 September 2014
From September 22nd to 24th Amsterdam is the stage for the 4th Plenary of the Research Data Alliance (RDA). This leading conference on sharing research data welcomes around 500 visitors and renowned guest speakers, such as Jos Engelen (NWO), Robert Jan Smits (director DG Research, European Commission) and European Commissioner Neelie Kroes.
Due to the global data explosion in recent years it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage the flow of data, permanently store it and keep it available. During the RDA conference experts from all over the world work on this challenge.
Program and registration
The conference takes place in the Meervaart convention center. Please find the program of the conference on the RDA website. Registration is still open.
About the Research Data Alliance
The Research Data Alliance was launched in 2013 and enables data to be shared across barriers through focused working groups and interest groups, formed of experts from around the world – from academia, industry and government. During the biannual plenary meetings these groups come together. RDNL partners 3TU.Datacentrum and Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS) are active in several working groups and take care of the organization of the conference, together with the University of Amsterdam and the Netherlands eScience Center.
15 other (inter)national events are colocated with the RDA conference. On 24 September, RDNL's Dutch Data Prize will be awarded and the Data Seal of Approval and EUDAT hold their conferences. To see the full list of colocated events please visit the RDA website.
