Jury Dutch Data Prize 2020 announced07 May 2020
The jury of the Dutch Data Prize 2020 is complete and will be chaired by Rector Magnificus Emeritus of TU Delft Prof. dr. ir. Karel Luyben.
As in previous editions of the Dutch Data Prize, the jury in 2020 will consist of prominent researches from the Dutch scientific sphere. Where in 2018 NWO chairman Stan Gielen served as jury chairman, this year Rector Magnificus Emeritus of TU Delft Prof. dr. ir. Karel Luyben will perform this task. Luyben is a chemist and has held various key positions in the fields of biotechnology and process technology. He is also chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Open Science Cloud.
The other members of the jury are:
- In the category 'Humanities and social sciences': Prof. dr. Dr Rens van de Schoot (Professor of Statistics for Small Data Sets at Utrecht University) and Anne-Marie Slotboom (Associate Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at VU University Amsterdam).
- In the category 'Exact and technical sciences': Prof. dr. Arjen Doelman (Professor of Applied Analysis at Leiden University) and Prof. Margot Weijnen (Scientific Director Next Generation Infrastructures Foundation).
- In the category 'Medical and life sciences': Prof. dr. ir. Ilja Arts (Professor of Molecular Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases). The second jurymember will be announced soon.
The Dutch Data Prize 2020 will be awarded on November 18. It is possible to nominate yourself, another scientist or a research group for the prize until June 1st.
The Dutch Data Prize is an initiative of Research Data Netherlands (RDNL), a national coalition of data archives: 4TU.ResearchData, SURFsara and DANS.
