13 data supporters obtain certificate10 November 2015
Thirteen data supporters obtained the certificate of the Essentials 4 Data Support course.
Over the past six weeks, thirteen datasupportes followed this Research Data Netherlands (RDNL) course and learned how to better support researchers in the handling of research data in their institutions (university, college or university medical center).
About the course
Essentials 4 Data Support is an introductory course for those who provide support to researchers in storing, managing, archiving and sharing their research data: data support staff. With this course, Research Data Netherlands aims to contribute to the professional development of and coordination between data support staff. In addition to an online-only version, the course can also be taken in two face-to-face days in combination with assignments based on the online content.
Coach Marjan Grootveld: “On the second day of this course the students presented assignments and plans which were all focused on their own organisations. Among the participants were a few data scientists, who engage in data cleaning and analysis on a daily basis. The Essentials course envisions a broader basis, but also for data scientists the subject of Data Management Plans (chapter 2) is of current interest.
